I discovered SonicPi a couple of months ago from stack overflow blog post. I’m a coder by profession and have enjoy playing music so was keep to have a play. My favourite aspects so far:
- chords + randomness = fun
- the ability to share music on github
- being able to tweak things live
Its taught me loads about music theory so far. For example, play a sample at half speed and its an octave lower. Genius!
I’ve put my initial experiments on github and uploaded a couple of tunes to SoundCloud:
As for future ambitions, I’d like to have a play with OSC and try and link it with projection mapping. I recently got hold my hands on a lightform LF2 projector and I’d like to bring the two together.
