Hello from St. Louis, MO

I’ve been messing with genetic algorithms for the past couple months and just started experimenting with the idea of “evolving” music. I was able to get a simple, very-beepy implementation working today. I’ll post code and demos once I’m a little further long. I also submitted my first PR earlier today: https://github.com/samaaron/sonic-pi/pull/2042

I’m not super savvy with Sonic PI, but I did play around with it a couple years ago and had a lot of fun. I made a “band” of very simple “player” objects that “listened” and played with each other. I kind of forgot about it until recently. I’d like to eventually revisit that project as well. I look forward to going deeper with you all. I’m already finding this discussion board to be super helpful, thanks!

Hello mate…

I’m sure you’ll find lots of help here.

Welcome to the forums

Eli…

Howdy!

I’m from St. Louis also. I’m in South City, not too far from Cherokee street. I’ve been kicking around the idea of doing a Sonic Pi meetup in STL. Let me know if you are interested.

I’m working on code right now for an art project that will generate music based on some kind of user text input.

Howdy Tom!

Welcome to our community. I visited St. Louis a couple of times for the fab Strangeloop conference - I really enjoyed visiting the city museum - such fun!

Please do let us know if you do set up a STL meetup for Sonic Pi and also let us know if we can help in any way.

I’m also looking forward to seeing what you come up with using Sonic Pi

Happy live coding!

Hey! Yes, I am definitely interested in the idea of a Sonic Pi meetup in St. Louis. This Art + Technology meetup https://twitter.com/atmstlus?lang=en could be a good place to have a demo night.

I live near you and I’m also working on a project that generates music based on user input
