What the world needs is a simple version of SPi that uses Web Audio for the synth ( replace Super Collider )….perhaps synths / effects only …
Curious to hear you expand on this. What’s your issue with SuperCollider? What makes you dismiss Sonic Tau so quickly? I want to make tools that people find delightful - so I’m always looking for constructive criticism and feedback!
I love SuperCollider . See my whole portfolio here :

All with Sonic-Pi .
BUT … Since I use RPi it has become more & more awkward .
Not @ all impossible , but I like everything super simple … To use SPi now I goto
Bullseye OS … Works fine but slight hassle . SO … The browser approach fixes all that
( especially now I use FydeOS on RPi ) … I hope You soon get Sonic Tau to run SPi
code (or way similar) I certainly am not “dismissing” (In fact jumped for happy when
I first seen it)
Just a fun challenge to use tone.js for a rudimentary synth .

Ah, looks like you haven’t actually tried Sonic Tau yet - Sonic Tau
I have … Does not accept most SPi code ( unless I am missing something )
Oh it’s not sonic pi and never will be - but it’s very similar. Even the randomisation system is identical!
It has a different name because it’s not designed to be a drop-in replacement. Sonic Pi will continue to exist and I’m actually working on a new release right now which I’m hoping to get released in a few weeks.
:square on its own doesn’t do anything in Sonic Pi either.
In Sonic Tau - it shows this error because it’s not a meaningful statement - but it also ignores the errors - so both Sonic Pi and Sonic Tau behave identically here. The only difference is that Sonic Tau gives you more useful information.
