On a fresh install of the version 4.2 on an M1 MacBook Air the gui will start, different pages can be selected and the files will play, but when you go into the editor window and move the cursor to the end of the text with arrow keys or clicking with the mouse the program crashes.
Oh, so sorry to hear this - I unfortunately don’t yet have access to any M1/M2 hardware - it’s still on my wishlist. I do know that a number of people use Sonic Pi on modern Apple hardware and this is the first I’ve heard of this issue though.
One quick question - if you don’t navigate to the end of the text, do things work as expected? Are you able to make noise?
Yes, things work until you actually try to change something.
Could there possibly be a conflict with some of the dev software I have installed? I have a lot installed with brew, including elixir, I think the ruby I’m running is installed with rvm.
I’m not sure what is happening, but it sounds similar to this: Segfault when text cursor moves to end of buffer · Issue #3109 · sonic-pi-net/sonic-pi · GitHub
