Does anyone know how to add 3rd party plugins(vst and au) and fx into sonic pi?

Hello @Prod.Distinguish

The short answer - currently, you can’t. What you can do is use Sonic Pi to communicate with external plugins via MIDI or OSC messages. (That, or you can pipe sound from an external program into Sonic Pi as a virtual input device if you have that set up with Jack/Pipewire/Voicemeeter etc).

Details for MIDI and OSC communication are in Chapter 11 and Chapter 12 of the Tutorial, (plus references for the midi and osc related functions in the ‘Lang’ section of the Help panel in the app).

There are also efforts underway to expand the number of built-in Synths and FX in Sonic Pi and the range of sounds they can make (and indeed instructions on how you yourself can explore doing so, by creating custom Supercollider synths and fx if you so wish, at SYNTH DESIGN.md - though it’s likely in the short term you’ll get the most mileage out of communicating with external plugins or devices).

There are a bunch of topics about that here on the forum if that’s the way you feel led; Feel free to have a search and see if anything useful comes up. Otherwise, more details about your devices and/or software may help folks to answer any specific questions you have
