Came across this site today. Has anyone tried it out?

I have such mixed feelings about the proliferation of AI tools for music-making.

I suppose it can be an entry, but I fear it’ll just enable idiots to crank out endless mediocre crap.

Maybe I’m just an old man shouting at clouds.

What’s wrong with that though? As with any art - AI-generated or not - just ignore the stuff you don’t like and focus on the stuff you do..

Thats no way to talk about Taylor Swift’s writing team :joy:

Fair enough, @samaaron . Maybe I’m just a snob – I’ve worked hard to get some level of skills, but if easy entry encourages newbies to pursue music further, maybe it is a good thing.

I’m almost never happy with what I get directly from any of the GenAI tools, but I’ve also found it really helpful to have it give me something and then go from there. An empty editor window, whether it is for code or for prose, is the biggest hurdle for me to clear when getting started on a project. One of the guys on my team always says it’s easier to critique than create, and the tools give at least the shell of something to get started with.

Well I just went to try it out @robin.newman, because why not, however:

Looks like the author has removed the site!

I didn’t see this site before it was closed, however am wondering about the IP implications of using Sam’s work for a derivative product. In terms of musical quality, AI is outrageously confident and I bet wrote its own blurb above

I’ve been using it as a coding trainer, both with p5js and SonicPi. It has been massively useful for things like ‘explain the concept of ‘lerp’ using analogies’, parsing, pseudocode to get an idea of structures. I struggled to get into creative coding until I had a patient 121 teacher  So I’m a fan in terms of overcoming educational barriers.
