For me the Venn diagram of music and programming has been two circles next to one another, hardly touching.

• Music: I primarily play the oboe, sometimes percussion and saxophone. Almost always in a classical acoustic setting. (Looking at PA’s and mixing panels makes me zone out).
• Programming: mostly as serverside software engineer for large organisations, haven’t very much with Ruby

At the end of 2024 I made the conscious decision to take music-making to the computer. Did some stuff with Garageband, later Logic Pro. In March 2025 learned about Sonic Pi. I like it.
