Hello, my name is Carl and I have been an electronic musician for a couple of decades although my progress moved onto another level when I ditched my Windows system for a second hand Apple Mac Pro. It’s an old (early 2009) “cheesegrater” but has 32GB of RAM and has been flashed from 4,1 to 5,1 and thanks to http://dosdude1.com/mojave/ is now running macOS 10.14 Mojave quite happily!

I’ve been learning Logic Pro X for about a year now and have got reasonably proficiant with it but I’ve also been keen to exploit my 30 years of programming experience, hence my involvement with Sonic-Pi.

Musically, I’m keen on German Kosmische bands like Can, Faust and Neü. I also like the Minimal Techno of Richie Hawtin and the more psychedelic grooves of Steve Hillage/System 7 as well as old-school Roots Reggae and classic Dub. There are countless other bands that I like as well!

I hope to get to grips with Sonic-Pi quickly, especially because of the possibilities it offers for Audio processing of electric guitar. My ideal scenario is a complete harmonious fusion of electronics and analog guitar, which in practice often means a banging beat and lots of fuzzy guitars with ludicrous amounts of delay effects!

No doubt I’ll be asking many embarrassingly simple questions but hopefullly I’ll be in a position to anwer a few at some point in the future!
