It wouldn’t just be drift. It could be that I have a loop that doesn’t add up to the right length. This happens not infrequently to me 
with the sync in the loop, the problems of an incorrect length loop aren’t as serious as they would be for once-only sync. Though, it might create a very interesting polyrhythm.
