The mixer is groovy … Synths not overwhelming ,  
but usable …

I agree Yoshimi is a great little synth app. I’ve used it quite a bit on raspberry pi with Sonic Pi. Prompted by your post and having recently built Sonic Pi as a virtual machine on Debian 12 on my M2 Mac, I also built the latest Yoshimi 2.3 .0 version from source this afternoon and it works nicely in that combination.

I was happy that the MIDI\_RAW worked …  
I had tried it some time back to no avail …  
May try FluidSynth also …  
Any recommendations for synths to try ?
