hi there,
i want to use computer keyboard as my midi. when i press it hard or soft, it can be detected by sonic pi. but i’m not sure if it has such a function. Does anyone can help me?
l’ve got no idea of it. it’s my pleasure if someone could help me.
hi kenny,
With a midi keyboard with the ability to pressure sensitive, the strenght of your press is called velocity. But with a computer keyboard, i think it’s impossible.

There’s a program called VMPK (Virtual MIDI Piano Keyboard) that allows a computer keyboard to function as a MIDI keyboard. However (as @nlb says), it cannot detect the force/velocity of the key presses, as the hardware doesn’t support that.
